Fluorine-18 can be labelled using either direct or indirect methods. 

Labelled peptides enable non-invasive visualisation and quantification of biological processes at the molecular level, aiding in drug development and therapeutic monitoring. 

Fluorine-18 has a relatively long half-life (110 minutes) compared to other isotopes, allowing for centralised production and easier imaging procedures.
